AlwaysOn Sync history

  • In SQL 2005, in the Database Mirroring monitor you could go into the sync history for each database and it would tell you the data queue size for the last week or so at different times. this way you could try to pinpoint some process that might have been causing a lot of data to be sent out.

Is there anything similar in the AlwaysOn monitor in SQL 2012 or 2016? been looking but haven't found anything yet

In the monitor, go to the very far right on the status page. There should be a column named History on the end. Click on the three dots/ellipsis

  • Must be missing something, because I can't even see it with my glasses on. I click the add/remove columns link and don't see history in there either

What version of SSMS are you using? Download a current version of SSMS and try as I suspect that is the problem. Here is the download link:
     Download SQL Server Management Studio

My bad, I answered too fast and didn't read your post as well - didn't see the switch to AO
There isn't the same thing as there is in Database Mirror Monitor.

  • But  (felt bad I misread this)...you might be looking for the information in the Extended Events session. Check the section on AlwaysOn Health Extended Events Session in this post:
What Should I Monitor in Availability Groups, and How?
