Getting a "Save architecture installation" failed error message

    I've got SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition installed on my PC. I'm now trying to install the SQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence suite onto my PC, so I can do some SSRS developer (as well as other things). But I'm getting this error:

    "Rule 'Same architecture installation' failed.

    The CPU architecture of installing feature(s) is different than the instance specified. To continue, add features to this instance with the same architecture"

    I'm trying to install it to the default instance on my machine. I think when I installed SQL 2012 Developer Edition, I installed the 64-bit version. This Bi version is the 32-bit version. Could that be what's causing my problem?

    Or is something else the issue?

    I think that's it. You can't mix 32 and 64bit on the same machine.

    The people in tech support at my work said the only version of SSRS/BI tools for SQL 2012 was the 32-bit version. So that's what I've got installed now.

    At the bottom of this page, it says that there are both 32- and 64-bit versions of SSRS.

    No, I think that page says that the 32-bit version is for both 32 and 64 bit SSRS 2012.
