I dutifully tried to upvote the "string or binary data truncated" on the link you gave in this article. You can't! It's closed for voting. So presumably that means it is now either well in hand or has been ignored?

Andy, I was just able to vote on the "Please fix the "String or binary data would be truncated" message to give the column name" item, and it still says "Active", so perhaps you were not signed in at the time you tried to vote?
One thing that I would like to see taken care of ASAP (and could use some support on :D) is:
Trusted Assemblies are more problematic yet less functional than Certificates - Please Remove
It concerns a recent change to SQL Server 2017 related to SQLCLR, which I realize is a niche topic, but this change is something that I see as being a (completely unnecessary) weakening of security, which is something that I would think would be of interest to (hopefully) the entire community. I have a more detailed explanation of the reasoning behind my request here:
SQLCLR vs. SQL Server 2017, Part 4: “Trusted Assemblies” – The Disappointment
The following request also concerns security, and is initially related to SQLCLR (and the issue noted above), but is more general as it would also help make module signing easier, as well as allow SSDT Database Projects to support Asymmetric Keys:
Allow Asymmetric Key to be created from binary hex bytes string just like CREATE CERTIFICATE (SQLCLR)
One thing that I think many / most can get behind is my request to have Microsoft identify in sys.databases the "type" of database that each one is, such as MS provided, system, user, demo, etc. This would mean that anyone who is writing automation scripts (and I think that covers most of us) wouldn't have to scan for names of databases to exclude:
Add "type" and "type_desc" fields to sys.databases DMV (to make life easier on EVERYONE)
And finally, this comes up every once in a while and is a pain to implement, yet it could be handled internally as the OS supports it:
Support "natural sorting" / DIGITSASNUMBERS as a Collation option
Thanks, Solomon...

Likely ignored 🙁

Thanks :). I forgot to mention that my request to have "type" / "type_desc" columns added to sys.databases is similar in nature to your request for:
Add Is_MasterKey to sys.symmetric_keys
which I voted for a while ago :).

Solomon's correct - you have to be logged in to vote. I just did and the vote is currently 1561 to 5. I don't know if that's lopsided enough for Microsoft to take action. It was created on 4/22/2008. On the bright side, only 7 more months before it's 10th birthday.
One of my favorite connect items is for a built-in table of numbers at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback/Details/258733 started by Erland Sommerskog on 2/18/2007. It'll have its 11th birthday in 5 more months.

I've found that CONNECT is pretty useless for suggestions unless that suggestion can be used for serious marketing. It's a somewhat beneficial dictatorship. Considering some of the suggestions, that's not a bad thing but that seems to bleed over into some of the more useful, if not marketable, suggestions.

Regarding the connect item about truncations, its worth noting that a Microsoft person gave feedback in the thread in 2016. I think its worth noting this and giving credit that someone did show up in the thread and has also mentioned that there has been some difficulties in implementation.

I just up voted it so it's still truly active.... well... if you want to call no action taken so far and some year old excuse from MS "active". You DO have to be logged in.
