difference between sql server 2014 x64 and sql server x86

  • Hi

what is the difference between sql server 2014 x64 and sql server 2014 x86..

I want to install and I don't know what is more useful for me..

I want to have a sql server for sharepoint farm, my sharepoint is shareoint 2013 sp1..

    would you please help me?

    thanks a lot.

  • x64 = 64 bit, the other one is 32.

  • Install x64.

The x86 is legacy and there's no good reason to use it any longer. SQL 2016 doesn't even have a x86 version.
