Hello Folks,
Hope All Is Well!
I am performing SP3 patching on SQL server 2008 R2 instance (hosted on windows server 2008 R2) and receiving following error at the beginning of the patching process.
SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:
Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "Errors.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "Microsoft.SqlServer.Discovery" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed..
with help of MSDN blog, tried to identify the issue was with one of the MSI file (which was logged in Detail.TXT file).suspected the issue can be that the particular MSI file would have been corrupted and replaced it from setup media. However the issue still persists and more over as from MSDN blog , I tried installing the MSI file manually i.e. by right clicking on the file and selected install option. But the MSI file didn't install as it wasn't able to find SQL server Services ID.
Did anyone has/had faced this issue? Your inputs would be appreciated.
Thanks !

I have only applied SP3 to 3 servers and all went well. Your best bet is to open a case with Microsoft for a fix.
