FTP Connection Manager would not connect

  • Hi guys

I have a problem when I try to create a FTP Connection Mananger in SSIS.

When I click Test Connection a dialog box says that "Connection can not be established. Server name, port number or credentials may be invalid"

I am convinced, that the values I type in are correct (my colleagues have also tried from their pc's). When I type the same values in FileZilla, there is no problems, and I can connect to the remote FTP server.

Even if I type in http://ftp.microsoft.com as anonymous user, I have the same problem.

I can't find any rule/policies in the fire wall that should prevent me from connecting.

I have tried in Visual Studio 2013 (Ultimate) and Visual Studio 2010 Shell

It is not SFTP, just ordinary FTP.

    Can anybody please help me?

See if you can have your machine right next to a co-workers and then both of you follow the exact same steps at the exact same time, with both of you starting from complete scratch - meaning NO EXISTING PACKAGEs involved.   Ideally, both of you have just completed a fresh re-boot first.

Make sure any firewalls, nat routers, AV programs in your environment allow outbound FTP connections.
