Removing only SSAS on Windows Server 2012

  • So I installed SSAS to the wrong location. I want to remove just this feature and reinstall it. But when I go to Add Remove Programs and highlight Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (64-bit), there is no separate Change tab. It's listed as Uninstall/Change.

I click this and only get the options of Add, Repair, and Remove.

Any ideas on how I can remove only SSAS from my install?

Or, if that's not possible, any suggestions on how to change the default locations for data and logs? I can't find those options in the server properties.

  • Hi,

You are in the good place, just choose 'Remove' and eventually you will have the usual 'Select Features' window to choose which component do you want to remove.

Ah. Okay. I was reading the prompts as if it were going to remove everything. Thanks.
