Hi
I have a Linked server which I do not want any other login to see but me. I know I can do this by selecting the security tab of the linked server and putting a check in the not be made box, and this works fine. However, I have a scheduled job that runs a stored procedure which accesses the linked server and pulls data. If I use the not be made check, then the job doesn't run. Does anyone know what account would run the job so that i can add this on the local login tab with my own credentials so that the job would still run.
Any Help or pointers appreciated.

forget about hiding the linked server...just make sure only specific users are mapped to use credentials that are valid on the linked server, so everyone ELSE is "not be made",
the list of linked servers is available under the public role, i believe, but just because something exists, doesn't mean end users can use it.
to resolve your job issue what you want to do is have a job run under a specific users permissions that DOES have access to the linked server.
