I have 2 default paramaters in my report. I click on data to check the data ok but when I click preview the report it straight starts with your report is being generated pls wait and doesnot give me control to either click on view report nor can select dates from drop downs.
Please advise how can i stop and correct the issue.

If I understand correctly, you're asking how can you stop BIDS from automatically generating the report when you open the "Preview" tab. I haven't been able to do this myself (I have tried - I feel your pain). One solution suggested here is to add a boolean parameter without a default to the report. This wouldn't have the same result, as you have to set the parameter yourself, but it would stop it running automatically.
