We currently have SSRS 2008 running for sql server 2014, 2012, and 2008. If we upgrade SSRS but don't update all of the instances, will this be problematic?

Upgrade SSRS to ...?
Do you mean you have SSRS only on the 2008 instance? Or are you looking to update all instances? Is this a separate 2008 instance, but connects to instances running 2008->2014?
Hard to know what you mean.

Sorry about that. We have licenses for all instances but currently we are using the single 2008 instance for SSRS and we have data sources to all of the other instances, 2008 thru 2014. If we upgrade the SSRS service to 2014, and keep the SQL Server instances the same (2008 thru 14) will we have a lot of issues?

Haven't specifically upgraded to 2014 for SSRS, but the data sources should work fine. The connections from applications are the same (OLEDB/ADO.NET/etc) and those work fine from 2005->2014
