I have an SSAS environment that has only one role with 8 people as members, the role is to limit access to certain attributes in a dimension and this works fine for 4 out of the 8, the other 4 can see everything. can anyone explain how this might be happening? my first thought is that it is inheriting a higher security level from somewhere else but there are no other roles , none of the memberships are the admin account. The builtinAdminsAreServerAdmins property is set to false. I am testing using the impersonate feature whilst browsing in SSMS
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have managed to answer my own question. There were accounts that were local admins that had implied admin access. These were not being blocked out by the builtinAdminsAreServerAdmins property as i hadn't restarted the service.
once restarted everything sorted itself out.
