Using Access as a front end

    I've created an Access database that links via ODBC to one of the tables in a local 2014 Express installation. If I try to modify a record I get "This recordset is not updateable." Why is that?

    is there any primary key or a unique index on your SQL table?

    There wasn't, but I added one and it works now. Thanks.

    The table was imported from Access, I guess the key didn't transfer.
