HI guys,
I'm currently running a backup job and it's still not finished yet but I need to restart the service. When I run activity monitor, it says RESTORE VERIFYON. Can I go ahead and restart it and be able to use the backup and restore?

I wouldn't recommend doing so. Your backup job is currently verifying the backup file, you should let it complete to ensure that your backup is valid.

Maybe, but I wouldn't. Take a look at sys.dm_exec_requests. Backup processes will give you a ballpark completion percentage. That should help you know how long you might have to wait.
