Hi
The company I am working generally denies Server Admin rights to the DBA. I have to set up log shipping and I can see that with 2008 and earlier it required Server Admin rights(Local Admin) does that still apply in 2014, as I will need to request permissions. We only just acquired SQL Server and in my past life only done basic admin for 2005 and 2008. Large Oracle background as a DBA
I have looked for documents on the Microsoft site but cannot find anything specific on this matter, any pointers to docs a web tips page appreciated
Thanks

You don't require admin rights at the Windows level on any version unless your required to set up the file shares that are required for the Log Shipping plan
