SQLSaturday #184 in New Haven, CT - March 2, 2013

,

So much SQL, and so little Saturdays.   SQLSaturday is truly a world-class event

happening all over the globe.  Just this

past Saturday, February 02, 2013, SQLSaturday landed South of the Border

(relative to the US) in Mexico.   Other upcoming

world-wide venues include Vancouver BC, Auckland, NZ, Philippines, Portugal and

Kiev.and UK.

Bringing us back to its home-country of origin, a month from

last Saturday, another SQLSaturday up here on the East Coast, is coming to New

Haven, Connecticut.  Brought to us by

Professor John Flannery and his SQLSaturday team of volunteers, it is a

wonderful winter treat of SQL Server education in one of the finest well-known

universities in the country.

Coming off a big election year you may have heard about Quinnipiac University – a nationally-Known

Polling Institute. Frequently cited by journalists, public officials and

researchers, the independent Quinnipiac University Poll regularly surveys

residents nationwide about political races, state and national elections and

issues of public concern.

And, Quinnipiac is known for its strong sense of community. Their

student organizations and Greek chapters are dedicated to community outreach

and service.  So, what other place would

be more suitable to host our the most dedicated of communities, the SQL Server

Community.  This SQL Server Community

Event, SQLSaturday #184,

will take place on March 2, 2013 at Quinnipiac University, 370 Bassett Road,

North Haven, CT 06473-4201.

An excellent lineup is in store with our favorite SQL

Community experts and MVPs.  Nineteen

wonderful speakers are coming from as far away as Denver to share their

knowledge with you. Presenting here is Grant Fritchey, Aaron Bertrand, Thomas

LaRock, Mike Hillwig,  Jack Corbett, Melissa

Demsak and Matt Velic, to name a few.  What

do you get when you have a Scary DBA and Cranky DBA in the same place? J For a full speaker

lineup and presentation schedule click HERE.

They’ve

done their best to provide a good mix of topics and skill levels.  There are multiple tracks including DB Administration, Development, BI, Professional Development, and one dedicated to SQL Server 2012.  We hope you'll find something of interest

throughout the day.  Oh, and I will be

there do my talk on Much

Ado About Indexes.  Healthy Indexes

is definitely a big part of having a HealthySQL Server.  Stop by, sit in and don’t forget to say hello.

I’m excited and they want you to be a part of it.

SQLSaturday is a training

event for

SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL

Server.  We can thank the many sponsors for helping

make this event possible – so do stop by and learn about their products and

services.

Registration and Continental Breakfast will start at 8am. We

have an exciting General Session planned for 8:30 that will include information

on $345 worth of software being made available by xsql to all attendees. You

will not want to miss that.

We are 1 month away from SQL Saturday North Haven!!   Let’s take a poll: Who wants to be part of

the SQLSaturday #184 action? There are 30 seats remaining for our event. I

expect that - now with less than one month to go - they will go quickly.

Please register

NOW as seating is limited and be sure to let friends and colleagues know about

the event - they do NOT want to get shut out!!  We look forward to seeing you in March!  You can follow the event on twitter, with hashtag #sqlsat184.  Be sure to follow me as well @Pearlknows
