determine SQL maintenance plan creator

  • Is there a way to find out who created (owner) a maintenance plan in SQL?

  • This likely wont help but it's worth noting that, if it is scheduled as a SQL Agent Job the default job owner will be the person that created the maintenance plan.

  • Well it helps if it is accurate which I'm guessing it is. The two scheduled jobs that exist in the SQL agent job list for these maintenance plans are owned by "SA". So yes you are right no help because it is "SA" but I now know a little more at least.

Without some kind of auditing turned on it's pretty tough. What you know for sure is it's someone who has permission to do so which is why it's good to lock that down.
