data type conversation

    Hi all

    I have one variable sub_date string type

    another variable is @annual_date Date type in ssis

    Sub_date='20150505'string

    annual_date= 201500505 bt I need only type need to change

    I need to assing value like @annual_date=sub_date

    it throw error

    can you guys help me?

    the convert function has an optional parameter when you are converting dates;

    112 will give you the eight digit format you are looking for:

    SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR,getdate(),112) --20150803

    SELECT Sub_date = CONVERT(VARCHAR,annual_date,112)
