Hi Experts,
We have a 2 node cluster installation with 3 instances. I am able to do DAC locally to all these instances. I have enabled 'Remote Administrator Connection', now i need to tell my N\W team to open up the port of DAC to connect remotely. Is the port mentioned in SQL error for DAC will change everytime SQL Server starts?
Is there anything else i need to take care of to make sure I can connect DAC remotely?/
Thanks in Advance.

I was under the impression that out of the box the DAC listens on TCP1434. This can be changed so just check it. I normally have my firewall guys open up 1434 as well as the SQL ports required.

A port is assigned when the instance starts, you can see the port assignment in the sql error log. You can set your own preferred port in the registry and then ensure the firewall is configured to allow this port

its the default but will change with named instances.

Will the port again change if i change it in registry. ie i made the port 5000 in registry and will it change after restart?
