Data Source Definition Does Not Change in Catalog

  • I've been examining the data sources we use and I'm in the process of putting together a change-tracking system. As part of this I'extracted the data source definitions from the catalog table and converted them to XML. I created as data source specifically for messing around with testing so I could make changes without affecting anything live. What I noticed was that although the modification time would show a change had been made, the change itself would not appear in the XML. I've not done much work with XML or Reporting Services but all the scripts I've found look in the same places I've been looking.

    Is there anywhere else the data source definition is stored?
