Considerations when evaluationg Backup/restore solutions

  • Hi all,

    I am trialling some software, from a well-known vendor for which we are already licenced.

    Apart from Backup/Restore speeds and pricing, what else should I take into account?

  • Does it meet all the business requirements? Can it give you, your RTO and RPOs?

    Use-ability - is the product easy to use?

    Support - whats the companies support like? You may need them one day, what are their response times? If you hit a P1 issue and need a restore, the apps not working or restoring the DB, you need to contact them, does their P1 response time beat your RTO?
