How to I get/manage the Win2012R2 Cluster Resources PossibleOwners using Powershell ?
$InstanceName = 'D006'
Get-ClusterResource -Cluster cl11 -Name "SQL Server ($InstanceName)" |
where ResourceType -eq 'SQL Server' | Get-ClusterOwnerNode ;
ClusterObject OwnerNodes
------------- ----------
SQL Server (D006) {DV25, DV26, DV27}
This shows the potential owner nodes of the cluster Role !
I need to remove a node from this list.
If I user that using Remove-ClusterNode It removes the node from the cluster.
Remove a node from a failover cluster. After the node is removed, it no longer functions as part of the cluster unless you add it back to the cluster.
That is not the goal, because with Always On, the node has to be joined to the cluster.
Question is: How do I remove a node from the list of possible owners of a sql server clustered instance ?

Solved the issue !
The trick lies in Set-ClusterOwnerNode and specify a Resource !
$Res = Get-ClusterResource -Cluster cl11 -Name "SQL Server ($InstanceName)" |
where ResourceType -eq 'SQL Server'
Set-ClusterOwnerNode -Resource $Res -Owners DV25, DV26
