We are looking for a database compare tool and a colleague of mine spotted SSDT.
However, it appears that toolset only runs in Visual Studio !!
Why doesn't SSDT plug into SSMS ?

Why? Because that's not what it was designed for.

Alvin, I don't understand that....
it has a powerful data table compare and auto scripting feature.
It apparently can take two tables and provide a script to make sure they are equivalent.....at least structure-wise.

We ended up purchasing Red Gate's SQL Compare utlility.
Very fine product indeed !!!
