availability group synchronization shared network location - can files be safely deleted?

    I have a SQL2012 AlwaysOn availability Group which is running well. When adding databases to the group I select the FULL option for the initial data synchronization, using a network share. I have now realized that this shared location still contains the backup files used in the initial synchronization. As the databases are now in the availability group is there any reason I can not delete the files in the network share?

    Nope, unless you need the backups for something else i.e. rollback to a previous SQL version you may have migrated from, or to do the initialization again from the same backup.
