Question on database names in Transactional Replication

    Could not find this in BOL, so forgive me if it exists there and I missed it, but is it possible to have a database at the subscriber receive replication from a publisher, with a different database name?

    Example...Publisher database name: Database1

    Subscriber database name: Database2

    Will that work?

    Yes it will work. The subscription database does not need to be the same name as the publisher.

    Thank you for getting back to me on this. Additionally - it is nice to see that you can create the database on the Subscriber end on the fly, by a different name, and have it populate that way. I have one other issue that I will post separately regarding the Distributor, but that is another discussion.
