Is it possible to reinstall only the SSAS of an instance in order to change from dimensional to tabular?

    Hey guys, I currently have a production server that was installed with the SSAS in Dimensional mode. I'd like to change it to Tabular mode. Can it be done without have a complete reinstall of SQL Server?

    You will need to de-install the SSAS Multi Dimensional instance and then install the Tabular instance. You do not need to de-install anything else as part of this process. When you are doing the de-install, you can choose which components that you want to remove - just select the SSAS Multi Dimensional instance.
