Create link server for Microsoft Access2000

    Hello,

    Can some one help to create link server for Microsoft Access2000, here is what I did but it is not working:

    EXEC sp_addlinkedserver

    @server = N'fx',

    @provider = N'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0',

    @srvproduct = N'OLE DB Provider for ACE',

    @datasrc = N'\\us-balt-san-1\inhouse$\shipping\FX\DATA\fx.mdb';

    GO

    What version of SQL are you using?

    Wouldn't you use JET4.0 instead of ACE? ACE is the filetype for Access 2007 and beyond.

    Can I use replication between sql server 2008 sp1 and sql server 20005 sp3 and sql server 2008 sp1 with sql server 2000

    Wouldn't you use JET4.0 instead of ACE? ACE is the filetype for Access 2007 and beyond.

    the ACE drivers are required for a SQL server 64 bit version to connect; they are backwards compatible for "earlier" versions of access; it's also possilbe to install the 32 bit verison of those drivers, when you need the 64 bit verisons installed instead.

    my first question, is if you move a copy of the access database to be LOCAL on the SQL server, does it work?

    my first guess would be the local account running SQL server does not have permissions to the share:

    \\us-balt-san-1\inhouse$\shipping\FX\DATA\fx.mdb';
