Does any know what are some key features in SQL Server 2016 Standard Edition.

all the features we are talking about SQL server 2016 are of enterprise edition but for sql server std edition u can only guess
normal trend is that features of enterprise edition of earlier version are included in standard version
so check thoes out

The decisions as to what's Enterprise and what's Standard will likely be made much closer to release.

No, it's not. In fact, the only feature I can think of that started out as Enterprise only and became Standard later was backup compression.

I think log shipping started off as Enterprise only, back in the day, although it was possible to roll your own in Standard.
