  Do i have to have visual studio 2013 if i want to upgrade the sql data tools to sql 2014?

  I currently have visual studio 2010. Actually it's not me it's a dev box but whatever. Will i have to upgrade visual studio to 2013 in order to upgrade sql to 2014 and use it's 2014 version of data tools?

  You will need to go to either VS 2012 or VS 2013. VS 2010 does not host SSDT for SQL 2014.
