Where to see when error occurs during installation of SQL Server 2008

    Hi friends,

    when error occurs during installation where i can find the error than means how can i know the cause of that error.

    Iam new to dba....please help..

    Look in your installation folder, usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap in the LOG directory. You will see a file called Summary.txt and a folder for each time you've started a setup.

    In the folders with the date/time of your failed installation look for the detail.txt file. It contains all the steps executed and the errors encountered during setup.
