So you realize the importance of ddl and consumable sample data yet you don't post it? You do however post the instructions from your professor. Do you honestly think that people are going to do your homework for you? What are going to do in the real world when you can't do your job?

People around here are willing to help but we are NOT willing to do this for you. This looks like somebody who wants it handed to them. Put in some effort on your own first. Create the tables and try to figure this out yourself. Then you will have the things needed for a decent post and you might actually figure it out on your own.

  • Sean,

I don't need any results, there is a problem, the database is not working. I just wanted to know what they are asking for in the result set. I might need help with the stored procedure, I will try it myself first. But just need help for some clarity, not the result. Its a preliminary interview.

My mantra: No loops! No CURSORs! No RBAR! Hoo-uh![/I]

My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?

    My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.
