Can some one tell me the difference b/w installation of SQL Server 2005 and SQL server2008R2.

Give it a try 🙂
All the principles are the same but the screens look different. The only new thing you need to do is provide Data,logs,tempdb,backup default locations if you do not want it to be the default.
I think thats thats only different. Give it a try..

SQL 2005 -> SQL Server Setup requires Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 or later and Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1 or later.
SQL 2008 R2->SQL Server Setup requires Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 or a later version
