Are you looking for a ping command? You need to enter the below command in command prompt aka cmd

press windows+R

type <cmd>

and enter this command

PING <servername>

also you can input the ip address instead of server if you know that to interpret the results check some results in internet.

my question is not regarding ping command i want to know what i have to do for ping a server by its name over wan network or from different location

Server you want to ping must have public IP and dns records.

You must have access trough firewalls.

This should be enough for ping to work.

Other option is to have VPN connection between two different networks. I think this is better and more common way to do this.
