Hi Experts,
We need to setup an AO availability Group for a database for which a full backup exists but the DB is in simple recovery mode now. If i change the recovery mode to full and try to configure AG will this full backup will be used or do i need to create a new full backup.

You will need do run another full backup after you have switched to full recovery

Yeah, new full backup. Any time you switch between simple and full you need to take a new full backup immediately after.

after the recovery model switch you may run a differential backup and use this along with the existing full backup to initialise the new secondary
