Automated and manual backup done through SQL Management console are failing with error 23 - redundancy check failed.
This is a critical production db. Other db in same instance backs up ok.
Is there a way to fix this?

What's the exact command and exact error that you're getting?
When did you last run CheckDB on that database?

Thanks for replying. I am new to SQL admin. I have not run CheckDB.
Full error message is:
Backup failed for Server 'Active02'. (Microsoft.Sql|Server.SmoExtended)
Additional information:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: Read on"E:\Class Database\Class.mdf" failed: 23(Data error (cyclic redundancy check).) (Microsoft.Sql|Server.Smo)
Any suggestions?
Eddie

Just a final note:
I worked with MS Support and was able to resolve my problem.
