Hi,
my company wants to install a SQLSever2012 instance.
Now i'm at a lucky position and i should write a "wish" list for the hardware.
But Hardware is not my favorit job 😉
What is the best hardware (CPU, Memory and so on)?
Are the requirements from the microsoft page http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/ms143506(v=sql.110).aspx are okay?
Note: We have one big cube, which runs very slow at the moment (SQL Server 2008). These should be able to be faster 😉

Search the web for Glenn Berry SQL Server hardware and you will get a number of relevant links, including his free eBook: http://download.red-gate.com/ebooks/SQL/sql-server-hardware-ebook.pdf

But i thought, maybe is her an admin, which knows the best config and he could send me the best configuration (like cpu usw.)

Anyone can give you best hardware for SQL Server 2012 that meets their own needs. Does it mean it will meet your business' needs, absolutely not. We have no idea what load your server needs to support, that is footwork you should be doing yourself. If you do not want to pay someone to come in or find a hardware vendor to help you chose the best server for your needs.
When you meet with that person or vendor just telling them it has "one big cube" does not mean anything nor does "it runs slow". Now if they are SQL Server savy it will tell them a few things, but nothing that is going to just magically point them to "oh you need this server with xyz CPU and ab amount of RAM".
Also you should look at building a server for 2014 if you are going to the trouble of building a new server for the near future.

Okay - i understand.
We have at the moment a SQL Server 2008 instance.
Which are the best tools to measure the traffic and so on?
Are there some tutorials available?
