Hi all
I've been trying to apply cumulative updates to a new install of SQL 2012 SP1 - standard edition. Any update that I try I receive the error: The installed SQL Server product version is 11.1.3000.0, and the expected SQL Server version is 11.0.2100.60.
Now @@version gives me the following: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3000.0 (X64) Oct 19 2012 13:38:57 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition (64-bit) so it seems now I cannot apply any CU's going forward!
Is this actually an issue and if so, any ideas?!
Regards

Hello
Make sure you got correct CU.
If I understand right your server complaining that you are trying to apply update issued to 11.0.2100 version on a later version of SQL server.
11.0.3100 is SP1
You can check versions here

Hi and thanks for the reply, yes the CU's that I have tried are for SP1 - the latest CU9 for example.

According to error your setup expects older version.
I just today installed CU9 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2931078/en-us
To the SQL2012 SP1. Without any problems.

Hi and thanks for the reply again.
Yes thats my problem, its a base install of SQL 2012 and SP1 and nothing else, but CU9 for example wont go on and it gives the error message - plus the build lists dont mention a version of 11.1
I'm going to uninstall SQL and try again as perhaps something has gone awry along the way.
