Our company does business globally.
They decided a few years ago that
the best way to control user access to SSRS reports
is by creating a "Home Page" report for each group of countries (Europe, Nordics, New Zealansd, etc.)
with the links to the reports that are designed specifically for that region.
Please have a look at the attached
"Wave3 Home Page.jpg" to see what I mean.
"Wave3 Standard View.jpg" shows you what folder structure is behind that Home Page.
I talked to Operations guy and he said "it's not not a good to give users access to Report Manager..?!"
So he is happy with the current setup.
I personally don't like this idea - looking at the reports through another report.
And I'm sure there's gotta be a better way
to control user access on Report Manager.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rob

Is there another layer of security there? What's to stop a user from Germany, clicking on Ireland reports?
