SSRS Report Manager

  • When I try to open Report Manager (http://mypcname/reports) from a remote pc it prompts for credential. When I open it on my local machine it does open fine.

Is there a way that a remote pc that is not in the same domain can open Report Manager without prompting for credentials? In other word let's say I need somebody to run the reports in Report Manager without giving them my windows credentials. How do I do that?

  • This kind of depends on what your security needs are. If you just want everyone to be able to be able to get to the reports, then you can do this without much fuss.

These instructions work in Internet Explorer

I have folders set up in my report server where I store my reports. If you click the down arrow you get when you hover over the folder, you have the option for Security. When you add role assignments, it is looking at the security groups that the computer knows about (Active Directory and Server Local groups). For the Group or User Name field, type in Everyone, and it will open up access to anyone that can connect to the server.
