I am trying to reinstall Sql 2008 R2 on my machine as I was hit with a virus. I have removed the server using control panel, and rebooted the machine. When I try to reinstall, the setup fails because of a previous installation. I am able to install the express edition, but when I try to install the management studio, I get the same failure.
Any ideas?

Reinstalling can be tricky. Try deleting the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server,
then delete the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server and C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft SQL Server(if you're 64-bit) folders, then reboot again.
