We have a fact table for budgets. That table consists solely of the Budget Amount measure. How can I join it to the date dimension? The source data contains the Start Date and End Date of the budget amount. Should i use the start date, end date, both, or neither to connect my budget fact table to the date dimension?

How good is to store budges data if you can't tell the time period of such budget?
IF all budget information is annual then StartDate should suffice 'cause you can infer EndData BUT, if - at source data appears to suggest - there is a particular start/end date pair for each budgetted amount then you have to store both.

Good point. I have modified the design accordingly.
