Replication is stopping me from shrinking transation logs

    Hi I was trying to shrink the transaction log file because size is out of control but replication is running on that DB

    Is there a way to turn off replication temporary , do the shrink then turn back on?

    I believe you can go to your replication monitor, right click on the agent and select properties. You can then disable the task. . . I think.

    Replication needs to read the transaction log. If you stop replication, that may cause the log to grow even more.

    What caused the log to grow in the first place? Why the need to shrink it?
