  this directory is over 2gb

  \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Update Cache

  can you delete the contents safely?

  no, you should not delete this files, they are used to check, if SP's and CUs are already installed...

  but you can delete the file in setup bootstrap\log as far as i know.
