Hi am delete database but it says:
cannot delete database because the file is open in sql server, I can see the database from:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA
but unable to deleted through right click- delete. plse advise.

If the database is still attached to the SQL instance then you won't be able to delete it via windows explorer.
You can either delete the database from the SQL Server Management Studio Express or detach the database then delete the data and log files.
