Hi. I had sql server management studio for sql server 2012 installed on my pc when I started at this company a year ago, but the sql server profiler was gray under tools in SSMS.
I then installed the full tools, and the profiler is no longer grayed out, but it doesn't run when I click on it.
Could this be an issue with PATH/libraries, or some other issue?
Is there a logfile I can look in to see what errors the profiler is getting?
If so, where is the file located?
Thanks very much for any suggestions or help.
I'm sorry, but being a newbie, I had posted this to another forum, sql server 7/sql server 2000, two days ago, and don't know how to delete it from there.

Verify that you have the executable (Profiler.exe) in your binn directory: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn". If not you may need to reinstall the tools.
This also could be a good time to learn Extended Events 😉

Thanks Keith. Will try to reinstall. Only profiler file is the XML config file.

Re-installing the tools worked. Thanks, Keith.
