Question - we run Relativity by KCura and have hundreds of databases and in turn, hundreds of full text catalogs. Sometimes these databases stay on the system for years even when the case is over and there is no need for Full text catalogs. Is there a best practice to shrink these files? or, compress?
Also, why is there a little lock icon with the full text index file icon on the disk? What does this mean?

Full Text catalogues created by SQL Server are an intrinsic part of the database. If you do anything to these files without letting SQL Server know then the database may become unusable.
If you are really concerned about the size of these files, then you can remove the full text catalogs from within SQL Server. However, if this action is not supported KCuria then you may be taking these databases out of KCuria support - you will have to check on this.
The most likely outcome is that you will need to keep the full text catalogues for the life of the database.
