  • I've got to be honest, I guessed. I did some research and couldn't find anything that explicitly said which versions couldn't be used. I then thought, which two versions are the most limited, and chose them.


    On two occasions I have been asked, "Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?" ... I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

  • Easy question, which I got wrong, as I seem to have missed the word "cannot" (in bold font) and the number "2". I prompted selected the three that CAN and clicked "submit".

    In fairness, I must report that we had a Christmas treat cook-off today. So, my brain is saturated with English Toffee and almond cookies. Is a sugar buzz equivalent to being intoxicated? πŸ™‚

    Now had you claimed sleep deprivation then you might have a better case. As the symptoms there can be likened more to those of intoxication (at least as far as operating machinery and driving are concerned). I'm sure the toffee was worth the loss of points!

  • Interesting question.

    This is another place where MS documentation seems to be a bit crazy. The SQL 2012 documentation describing the editions of SQL Server 2012 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144275.aspx]/url), the capacity limits of the various editions (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143760.aspx), the features available in the various editions (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645993.aspx) all talk about a Web edition and make no mention of SQL Server Compact (so that anyone who read that documentation would expect the answer to this QotD to be web Edition and Enterprise edition while the page referenced by the explanation talks about SQL Server Compact and makes no mention of SQL Server Web edition.

    So are there three editions that can't act as replication publisher, or just two one of which goes by different names in different MS documentation.
