  We are on SQL SERVER 2008 R2 CU5 and we are planning to upgrade it to SQL SERVER 2008 R2 SP2. I appreciate if you could put me right direction how to go about.

  That's avery open ended question.

  I guess you are considering applying the latest service pack to your SQL Server.

  All I can really is test thoroughly - make sure it behaves as you expect for your applications and systems
