I am rather new to the forum, but have searched extensively for one simple question that MS or any other authority simply will not answer.
Please understand that I need more than the built in Report Builder 3.0 that is the watered down version of BIDS for end users. I need to be able to author, edit, and save changes to a .rdl file without having to constantly go through the hoops of changing the data source connection values when uploading the reports to the SharePoint site.
Environment: all machines are 64-bit
Dev Box: Windows 2008, Visual Studio 2008
SharePoint Server: SQL Server 2008 R2
Data Server: SQL Server 2008 R2 - DB: SQL 2008
BIDS is also installed on the Data Server, but I do not want to develop directly on that machine.
Can you use BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio) with SSRS running in Integrated Mode with SharePoint?
How do you connect to the data source of a .rsds file (step by step)?

Please ignore this topic; I typed before thinking too deeply after an couple of frustrating hours of searching. Need to delete it, but don't know how or am not able to.
