Guys,
I've got a a stored procedure for which I save the resulting output with unicode encoding from Management studio.
I'd like to do this process via SSRS, this is fine except the default encoding for CSV is UTF-8 to my knowledge. I've scoured the web to try and find how I'd either create a new extension or edit the existing one to use unicode instead.
I've created a PIPE delimited delivery extension a while back which worked just fine, does anyone know if specifying unicode is actually possible?
Any help much appreciated, it seems this isn't documented anywhere!
Thanks.

Hi,
I've created a test report with a table in it. I've set the font to Arial Unicode MS. I've used Chinese characters because I'm pretty sure they are multibyte.
Rendering the report works fine. Exporting the report to CSV format also works fine. The Chinese characters are visible whether I open the CSV in a text editor or in Excel.
I would suggest it will work fine for you.

I'd never thought of that! That sounds like great alternative, I'll have a play around and see what I think.
Thanks - I need to think about more problems from a different perspective 🙂
