with reference to above i have created mailing labels of 3 columns.
the desgin time appears same as shown in the link
but when i execute i dont get any records in 2nd and 3rd column all the records gets displayed only in first column & if n\more then it goes to page 2
2)i have created the mailing label excetly as given
first put a table & in the details cell added a rectangle & in that added the fields
if the content length is more than it appears out of teh rectangle

I have just gone through the attached document and got their results.
Near the bottom of the document it states :-
"While previewing the report, keep in mind that the report viewer used in the preview of the report designer uses the Graphics Device Interface (GDI) to render the report to the screen, and because we are using multi-columns, a feature only supported in the print-oriented renderers for Reporting Services, you will only get to see the expected outcome if you click the “Print Layout” button in the preview window. This leverages the print-preview renderer and not the regular preview renderer. Also, because of this limitation, a multi-column report layout is only supported in print-oriented formats: PDF, TIFF (Image), Print, and Print Preview. You cannot export and save your report to Word, so your best option is to use PDF.
The final outcome of the report in Print Layout preview is shown in Figure P6-14 (I added light gray borders to my textbox, so you can see the size of the labels)."
So the normal preview mode shows as you have 1 column, changing to print layout fixes this.
The other point you have why not just add borders to the table instead of having an additional rectangle.

ya even i had gone thr' it
but i don't have Print Layout preview on the report
i have print preview in the file menu which when clicked shows blank report
aslo one more doubt reg expression
=IIF(Parameters!status.Value = "r",Fields!Radd.Value,Fields!cname.Value+Environment.NewLine+Fields!Cadd.Value)
i have teh above
but nothing is getting displayed though the parametr passed is corerect
